The Chinese Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CCTAM) 2011, organized by the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM) and hosted by Zhengzhou University, was held on August 24 – August 26, 2011 in Harbin.
CCTAM 2009 consists of opening and closing plenary lectures, semi-plenary lectures, 15 committee tracks, 16 sub-sections and 51 mini-symposia, which covers a wide range of mechanics-related topics and emerging discoveries in rapidly growing disciplines. Attendance from 51 universities and institutions topped more than 1,800, including 16 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) or of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and more than 30 Presidents or Vice Presidents of universities.In the meeting, our company showed our products and technology.
Meanwhile, the meeting is to the memory of Honorable President Professor Qian Xuesen, died on 31 October,2009 at the age of 98.
In his legendary life, Prof. Qian made invaluable contributions to China’s aeronautics and astronautics. He is one of the founders of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM), China's modern mechanics and space programs, Honorable President of CSTAM, one of the 23 great medalists of "Two Bombs and One Satellite" Distinguished Achievements, Senior Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Vice President of the 6th, 7th and 8th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
